What People Are Saying
“I enjoyed reading it while I was waiting in line in the passport office. I think I was the only one there smiling! While it’s cute, soft and cuddly, it’s also one of the most violent books I’ve read. Brilliant!” – Mike P.
An Ode To Myself
Poetry Written For Cats, By A Cat
It has been argued for years that cats don’t care about humans, but it would be a shame to not care about them.
After all, if they can write sonnets, haikus, and pages upon pages of twisted classic poetry for us and each other, what else can they do that we don’t know about? And that, fair reader, is what lies between these pages:
Understanding. Finally.
AN ODE TO MYSELF is a refreshing and whimsical book of poetry written to better understand the feline condition so we may better understand ourselves.
Throughout history we humans have turned to poetry books and the arts to explore just that, and who are we to understand the inner workings of a cat? Can we really explain why cats beg for belly rubs and then bite us after two, three or nine of them? Why do some love us deeply and some glare at us with sheer disdain (and most times it’s the exact same cat?) What is up with their obsession with gravity? Do they really need those naps? Are they kings who rule the garden, or are they afraid of the world beyond and just putting on a brave front?
